BMW 4 Series

Generations

First generation (F32/F33/F36; 2013)

The first-generation BMW 4 Series (F32/F33/F36), launched in 2013, carved its niche as a sportier, more focused coupe and convertible derivative of the 3 Series. While sharing some mechanical components, the 4 Series distinguished itself through a more aggressive design language, featuring a longer wheelbase and wider track, contributing to enhanced handling characteristics. This generation offered a range of powerful petrol and diesel engines, with options for rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The F36 Gran Coupe variant expanded the range to include a four-door coupe body style, adding practicality to the sporty appeal. Although closely related to the 3 Series, it established a distinct identity for itself, appealing to those seeking a more emotive and dynamic driving experience.

Second generation (G22/G23/G26; 2020)

The second-generation BMW 4 Series (G22/G23/G26), arriving in 2020, saw a bolder evolution in design, particularly notable in the controversial oversized kidney grille. Building upon its predecessor's performance-oriented character, this generation further refined the driving dynamics, offering improved agility and responsiveness. The range of powertrain options expanded to include even more potent engines and, notably, the addition of a fully electric i4 variant. Interior enhancements focused on technology and luxury, with a more modern and sophisticated cabin featuring updated infotainment and connectivity features. This generation again offers Coupe, Convertible, and Gran Coupe body styles, each characterized by a distinct design and performance orientation.
