Coda
Coda Automotive was a small American electric vehicle manufacturer that operated from 2009 to 2013. Their primary focus was the development and production of affordable, all-electric vehicles intended to compete in the emerging electric car market. Their flagship model, the Coda Sedan, was a four-door sedan with a relatively long range for its time. However, the company faced numerous challenges, including high production costs, limited battery technology, and fierce competition from established automakers. Ultimately, Coda failed to gain significant market share and declared bankruptcy in 2013. Despite its short existence, Coda represents an early attempt to introduce a practical and competitively priced electric vehicle to the mass market, highlighting the challenges and complexities of the nascent EV sector.
