Kia Seltos

- Year: 2019
The Kia Seltos is a subcompact crossover SUV launched in 2019 as part of Kia’s global strategy to expand its SUV lineup. Positioned between the smaller Kia Sonet or Stonic and the larger Sportage, the Seltos offers a balanced mix of style, technology, and practicality. It has been widely produced and assembled in countries such as South Korea, India, China, Vietnam, Russia, and others, allowing it to cater to both developed and emerging markets.
There are three key variations of the Seltos. The SP2 is the largest and most premium version, made in South Korea for markets like North America and Australasia. The SP2i, produced in India, and the SP2c, made in China, are cost-effective versions built for emerging markets. These variants share the Hyundai-Kia K2 platform and are mechanically related to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Carens, and similar models.
Under the hood, the Seltos offers a broad range of petrol and diesel engines, including turbocharged and naturally aspirated options ranging from 1.4L to 2.0L. Transmission choices include manual, automatic, CVT, and 7-speed DCT depending on the variant and region. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts are available, with AWD being exclusive to the SP2 model. With sharp styling, versatile configurations, and a tech-rich interior, the Kia Seltos has gained strong popularity in global markets.
