The Volkswagen Tera is a compact sub-4-meter SUV built on the MQB-A0 platform, positioned as Volkswagen’s most affordable global SUV offering. First launched in Brazil in early 2025, it blends sporty design elements inspired by the Tiguan, featuring sleek LED DRLs, a bold grille, muscular lines, and gloss-black accents. The interior offers modern conveniences like a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, touch-based HVAC controls, wireless charging, connected car features, and optional ADAS tech. Power comes from a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing around 114 HP and 178 Nm torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Safety highlights include up to eight airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and ISOFIX mounts. Expected to launch in India by mid-2026 with pricing between ?9 lakh and ?15 lakh, the Tera will compete with the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza, offering a blend of urban practicality, premium features, and Volkswagen’s signature build quality.
